NEW EP

roots in the rubble

What is… Roots in the rubble?

Roots in the Rubble is a 7 track EP. It’s a journey through existential thought and emotional survival. At its core, the project explores mental health and the difficult, often unspoken thoughts that weigh us down. It doesn’t shy away from darkness — instead, it sits with it, questions it, and ultimately chooses growth.

The title is a poetic symbol: even when everything feels in ruin, the roots remain and grow. Across the EP, there’s a shift from pessimism to optimism, a personal switch in perspective.

Musically, the sound is alternative, minimal, sometimes abstract. It blends conscious rap with experimental production — influenced by the likes of Kaytranada, Kendrick Lamar and Loyle Carner — but stripped of commercial hooks. There are nearly no choruses here. Just raw, stream-of-thought lyricism that feels like you're catching someone's mind mid-flow.

The creative process was intentionally fluid. Some tracks came together in a single sitting, others evolved over time. The songs were allowed to breathe so they may be shaped into a narrative. Working solo presented its own challenges, especially when it came to mastering and time pressure. But that solitude also gave the project its voice: honest, unfiltered, and deeply personal.

Each track is an invitation for reflection, maybe you’ll feel understood. It's music for those who overthink, who feel too much, who are stuck between big questions and the grind of everyday life. And just before the end, there's a burst of light: “Kings Life” — a moment of motivation and clarity that lifts the weight of everything that came before.
